Simple Home Remedies for Oily Skin

Oat Meal and Aloe Vera Scrub:-

Aloe vera contains an aspirin-like compound known as salicylic acid that has powerful anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial and analgesic properties that help in controlling oily skin and problems with acne and pimples. The anti-inflammatory properties of aloe also help in treating suntan and skin infections.
Take a handful of dry oats and mixes it thoroughly with some aloe vera gel and apply on face and massage gently with your fingers in clock-wise and anti-clockwise direction for 3-5 minutes. Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off with water. Repeat this remedy once every week to get noticeable results.


Milk has the benefit of being able to reduce the oil in your skin and make it feel wonderfully soft at the same time. Milk contains natural acids that will help to reduce the oil on the skin and remove dead skin cells, and it is great when you mix it with a few drops of lavender oil, or sandalwood oil. Dab the milk onto your face and massage it in gently; leave it on for about 10 minutes before washing off with lukewarm water.


You can either use honey directly or can mix with other components to prepare a face mask. Take honey and rub it on your face and let it settle for 15 minutes before you rinse your face. Honey is the best cure for oily skin.

Sugar & olive oil scrub for cleaning pores:-

Fairness tips for oily skin include the easiest yet the most effective ways in which you can bring about a positive change in your skin’s tone and texture. Making a scrub with the heavenly combination of sugar and olive oil will help get rid of clogged pores and dead skin cells.

Banana, Milk and oats Face Scrub:-

This cheap fruit is loaded with nutrients like vitamin A, B, and E along with potassium that helps in moisturizing and hydrating the skin cells without making them oily and greasy. Milk is the best natural moisturizer that nourishes the skin in a gentle way. This is a great natural scrub that exfoliates the skin and clears dead cells, blackheads and whiteheads. Do not use the scrub on pimple and acne affected areas, as it may aggravate the irritation.
Mash 1 ripe banana and add a tablespoon of milk and 2 tablespoons of oats to it. Mix well and apply on clean face. Massage the face using soft circular motion for 5 to 6 minutes, leave it on for another 20 minutes and wash off with water. Repeat it 2 to 3 times a week for best results.

Baking soda:-

Baking soda is mainly used for excess oil removal from your face. Mix baking soda with water and apply on your face to naturally cure oily skin. Rub the mixture on all over the face and make sure not to miss any area and wash it with water.  Baking soda also has cleansing effect and can be used as a natural cure for oily skin.

Papaya pulp:- 

Papaya is perfect for cleansing and exfoliating oily skin and it will also lighten any blemishes or dark areas on the skin. Take a couple of slices of papaya and blend it into a paste. Then, apply the paste to your skin and gently massage it in for a few minutes; leave it on for 10 minutes and rinse off.

Egg white and lemon juice:-

Egg white also has the capability to draw out excess moisture and can be used as a perfect mask when mixed with lemon extract. Take egg white and beat it till it becomes frothy and take half lemon and extract the juice and add to this mixture. Let the mixture dry on your face for half an hour and wash with cold water. Avoid applying this mixture around your eyes and lips.


Tomato is great for people with oily skin due to its cooling, clarifying & astringent properties. Tomato is very rich in vitamin C that is very useful for dealing with the acne-prone skin. In addition, tomato contains natural oil-absorbing acids that help you get rid of excess oil.


Cucumber also deserves its place in our list of home remedies for oily skin. Cucumbers are cooling on the skin and they have a natural astringent property to remove the oil from your face. They also contain vitamins and minerals, which will help to nourish your skin and keep it looking firm and fresh. Simply cut a cucumber into thin slices and rub the slices over your face. Alternatively, you could mix some cucumber juice with some lemon juice and apply it with a cotton wool ball.

Apple and honey-:

Apple acts as an astringent due to its acidic properties. Apple is mixed with honey to help in retaining moisture so that your skin is not depleted of its natural moisture after applying apple juice.  Take one apple and peel off the skin. Add one tablespoon of honey to make paste.
Apply this paste on face and leave for half an hour or until it is completely dry. Wash your face with cold water and frequently application of this mask helps in reducing oiliness of your face. Apple and honey mask is one the best cures for oily skin.
